The old tradition of Tulunadina baesaya had three types of cultivation - example yenilu , suggi and
kolake .The yenilu cultivation stars in the rainy season preferable in the
month of June and ready to harvest in the the month of October.Immediately
after the harvest they start to cultivate suggi , after harvesting the suggi
immediately they start kolake .Yenilu
cultivation depends on rain water , the suggi and kolake is through irrigation
.There are three types of paddy fields . They are bettu gadde , majalu gadda
and bailu gadde . In bettu gadde yenilu
besaya means yearly one crops are cultivated , second majalu gadde two times are cultivated and bailu gadde three times crop are
cultivated . In bettu gadde only rain water is used ,in majalu gadde along with rain water ,if there is shortage
of water they use yettak ie pane ie traditional way of irrigation . In bailu
gadde irrigation provision use to be there. For plowing they were using buffalo
or bull, and for that they use the tool by name
negilu which is made from wood .
First they were seeding in the field
with cow mannure . The seeds will take one month to become a plant . The grown
up plants which they used to call as
negi .The so called negi is
removed the original place and it will
be planted by manually in a well plowed field . When they are planting , they
used to plant two three plants together
keeping a distance of three to four inches gap between the plants . Before
planting they use cowdang and ash as its manure .In the growing period they
used to maintain water level in the field regularly .

After three months growing period the
plant is ready to harvest . The plant along with paddy is gathered and it will be removed in the courtyard by using padimancha
by beating the plants to separate Paddy . The paddy is dryed for 2 or 3
days , cleaned and stored in a place
called tuppe. When ever they get right
time in summer season they use to make it as rice . In this they make
three types of rice by name kuchilu ie boiled rice , arebolanthe ie half boiled
rice and the third one is bolanthe ie
white rice.
